Becoming a Good Pistol Shooter

Pistol shooting has got to be the most difficult kind of shooting activity despite the use of pistol scopes. Well, it’s no surprise. Why? Because pistols don’t have any back support or what you call buttstock. Also, the front sight and rear sight are quite close. Because of that, human errors are me and frustration may arise.
You need to improve your pistol shooting. It is important for you get a good grip. Any novice pistol shooter would know that a good grip is the most important foundation one must have. A pistol should be held in the shooter’s strong hand. He must be able to reach the highest part of the back strap as much as possible. The grip must also align the bore to the other part of the arm of the shooter. It should be positioned inward partially. Nevertheless, your grip should be tight. Weak grips result to recoil and easy jerking of the trigger. Besides, your grip will limit your hand from moving once you pull the trigger.
The other hand doesn’t just go restless. The weaker hand has to support the grip. You simply have to put the palm of the hand near the thumb that exposes the pistol grip. The weaker hand should be able to cover the stronger hand right over the knuckles. Once you’ve got the side grip together with the stronger hand, you already got a very strong grip. See to it that your hands are aligned appropriately. You can position your thumbs towards the target. Do not put your weaker hand on top of the magazine.
Lastly, perfect your trigger pull. Simply put your index finger on the trigger making sure it’s by your knuckle. Consistent practice will perfect your trigger pull. It will get you to speed up your shooting as well.
